All cars and indeed all machines need an MOT and service from time to time. We have all had the feeling of driving
our car away after a service and noticing how much smoother it drives. The performance had gradually been going down and down,
but so slowly you did not notice it.
Organisations also have a need for regular servicing. Tensions can build. Problems - often unspoken - can mount. Stress
can lead to needless arguments and general instability. Inefficiency increases.
We feel that team building is important but that 'team building exercises' can be of limited value if they do not address
the basic issues. Root and branch reform can most effectively happen when the management, the directors
etc. really know what is going on in the ranks.
We are passionate about identifying and encouraging staff members and trying to discover what ideas they have, rather
than coming in 'from outside' and planning over their heads which can alienate and demoralise.
How do we do it? After taking full instructions from one of the directors, we meet as many staff members as
possible and get a full idea of their ideas, complaints if any, and general views. We then write a report which
is submitted to the management for consideration and action.
For an average sized company the key interviews normally take place over a period of 1-3 months at the end of which
a first report is presented.
We may then be able to assist with the implementation of new ideas or you may choose to instigate them yourselves.
Every case is different so we will start with a clean sheet - no formulae and no assumptions - and discuss
your situation with you without obligation prior to any contract signing.
